Swedish Brand Volvo Introduces Latest Engines

Volvo XC90

2016 Volvo XC90 Has Been Named 2016 North American Truck/Utility of the Year, Thanks to the Brilliant Engine That Powers It

Thanks to its new platform and brilliantly built 2.0-litre twin-charged Drive-E engine, the new Volvo XC90 has been named 2016 North American Truck/Utility of the Year. Anyone who has driven it would agree that this engine has played a major role in this title. When it comes to performance and fuel economy, this Volvo XC90 engine is surprisingly fuel-efficient and returns great mileage. The Eaton-supercharged four and this turbocharged engine is mated to a newly developed eight-speed automatic gearbox, making them generate 316 bhp and 295 lb-ft. of torque.

What Engine Types are We Talking About?

Drive E engines

These new high-efficiency Drive-E engines are based on new Volvo engine Architecture (VEA) and the company is virtually trying to build every single vehicle based on this new architecture. Here are the number of units that will be included in this all-aluminium, direct-fuel-injected, all-turbocharged family: four 2.0-litre diesel four-cylinder engines, four 2.0-litre petrol inline-fours, and a 1.5-litre petrol three-cylinder engine. However, you can Buy Volvo engines from replacementengines.co.uk at affordable prices.

How These Engines Evolved?

Back in 2007, when the company was owned by Ford and was using derivations of Ford engines, a team of Volvo engineers sat together and planned on bringing an all-new family out. They agreed on designing, developing and manufacturing their own engines as adapting Ford engines to their vehicles was waste of time and money.

So they came up with a solid business case and sold the VEA plan to Geely, who was then about to buy Volvo. The result was absolutely amazing, the fuel economy was best-in-class, manufacturing was highly flexible and drivability was exciting.
